Dettson Industries develops and manufactures residential and industrial products for the North American HVAC industry. Dettson is part of the Ouellet Group, a private company headquartered in Quebec, Canada.
Corporate History
Dettson Industries was founded in 1952 and for almost 50 years specialized in oil-fired and electric furnaces and boilers. The company was acquired in 2010 by the Ouellet Group and has since expanded its research and development division in order to create innovative, sustainable space conditioning solutions.
The company has won several awards in recent years, including the Most Innovative Residential Housing Technology Advancing Building Performance at the 2015 enerQuality EQ Housing Innovation Forum.
Product Lines
The Dettson product line includes a large variety of heating and cooling products. These include the Hydra line, the smallest electrical boiler on the market. It includes the Hydra Revolution, Hydra Compact, and Hydra Industrial.
The Chinook gas furnace has the smallest footprint of any unit on the market and ranges in size from 15,000 to 120,000 BTU. The Chinook Compact, a 15,000 BTU model, is the industry’s most compact gas central heating appliance.

Oil boilers and furnaces have a 5-year parts and 20-year heat exchanger warranty; electric boilers have a 5-year parts and 10-year heat exchanger warranty, while electric furnaces have a 5-year parts warranty; there is a 5-year parts / 5-year heat exchanger warranty on Dettson’s oil water heater, and a 5-year parts / 2-year heat exchanger warranty on its air conditioning unit.
